A special dance workshop in the Tate Exchange building alongside A New Direction and The Vale Primary School

The Event

As part of the I am festival I represented The Vale School in teaching an inclusive dance workshop in The Tate Exchange. I based this workshop around the themes of birds and the participants explored ideas of flying, soaring and diving around the space as well as moving creatively with feathers. The space was decorated with images of many different birds to inspire the movements. I particularly enjoyed this workshop as the diversity in the room was so broad! The group was very neurodiverse, the age range inclusive and the level of previous dance experience varied, however each group worked together to create their own “flock” of dancers.
